OAKLAND — Two men were hospitalized after an injury shooting Sunday in a West Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.

Around 9:15 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity near the 800 block of Mead Avenue just west of San Pablo Avenue.

While en route, officers learned from dispatchers that at least one person was struck by bullets. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, with one struck in the lower body and the other in the head.

After providing medical care alongside other first responders, paramedics took the men to a hospital. The men’s conditions were not immediately available Sunday night.

Police worked to set up a perimeter to gather evidence and search the neighborhood, but did not share any description of a shooting suspect or associated vehicle.

For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $10,000 in the shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
