San Jose State’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library was evacuated Wednesday morning after police received a report of an armed person inside the building, university officials told Bay Area News Group.
San Jose State police sent a campus alert at 10:28 a.m. informing students and faculty of the report, and advising them to avoid the area as officers investigated.
As of about 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, there were no reports of shots fired. No injuries were reported.
University police and the San Jose Police Department set up a perimeter around the building and conducted a search after the reports. San Jose State police did not respond to requests for comment.
